Unlike most dentist-oriented software, with only clinic and administration/accounts sections, BaseDiary comprises three distinct sections:

• CLINIC - the CLINIC section is used by the practitioner to schedule appointments and maintain information about their patients.
• LABORATORY - the LAB section is mostly used by technicians and laboratory assistants who work on jobs assigned to them by the practitioner.
• ADMINISTRATION - the ADMIN section can be used by practitioners, technicians or receptionists to update the status of jobs or to create invoices. BaseDiary's user model has been created in a way that only the principal user sees all functions in this section.
  The laboratory section is a key point of difference. It makes BaseDiary suitable for both laboratories that service dentists and clinical laboratories that see patients and do the lab work for that patient as well as the dentists' work.
